Special Thanks |

On behalf of the MUSIC! Not Mischief program, Constable Tajti would like to offer special thanks to the following: |

|
 |
Thanks to my bosses for empowering me. Supt Ruth White, Insp Joanna Beaven, Insp Paul Vorvis and Sgt Marlene Suddes. Thanks to Chief Bill Blair for kind words of support privately and publicly. Thanks to my officers who came out again this year to work with the kids; Sgt's Vince Tso, Rob MacInnis and Jean Dubreuil, Constables Tom Parmigiano, Usman Haroon, Jamie Hamilton, Anthony Lefrancoise, Mike Dick, and Melanie Measor. An extra special thanks to my friend and 24 hour support system, Staff Inspector Bryce Evans. Honestly folks, if I ever get any credit for the success of this program, it's because these people allowed me to stand on their shoulders as I tried to reach as high as I could for our kids.

Once upon a time, Mike and Natalie Carparelli had a dream of being able to reach out to kids. Their vision, drive and infrastructure has allowed the Toronto Police to move forward and make that dream a reality. And do you think that doing good things comes without a price? No way. Through the rebranding of his company, (Dot On Shaft is now Carparelli Guitars), Mike has stayed focused on the kids while consolidating an reorganizing.
Notwithstanding epic adversity, Mike has stayed true to the brighter future of our kids by doing everything in his power to give them the gift of music. Mikey is the hero that makes dreams come true. And a special thanks to Carparelli Guitars' Marketing Director Robert Taylor.

For the second year, I upped the ante to 2 schools. ProAction Cops&Kids upped my budget impressively. That meant that we could reach out to kids with brighter and shinier guitars, more opportunities and greater impact.
If it wasn't for the support and funding of ProAction and those who donate to them, programs like MUSIC! wouldn't exist the way they do. For all of my partners and for all of the kids, thank you very much.

To Carole McGill and her team at the Tyler McGill Memorial Benefit. For those of you who don't know, 22 year old Tyler McGill was a lover of music and avid guitar player. In the summer of 2007, he was murdered in a parking lot in Scarborough. His mother and her team hosted a charity rock concert in February 2009 and raised $8500 for ProAction, which ultimately was fed back into MUSIC! for Year 2. I have praised Carole repeatedly in the public and in the media. She is the bravest woman I know and I am deeply humbled by the honour and privilege of having her on my team and being able to call her my friend. In the deep misfortune that brought us together, I hope that she is able to find some joy in what we are able to accomplish in her son's name. (I have tears in my eyes as I write this.) Carole, You're the best.

The administration, faculty and student body of St Mary's Catholic Secondary School, especially Principal Robert Merolle and faculty member Cathy Byrd: Thank you for your vision, hospitality, creative thinking and assistance. These great educators have been motivating and positively influencing kids long before MUSIC! came around. Our partnership was just one more way for us to reach higher and farther together. |

The administration, faculty and student body of Central Commerce Collegiate, especially Principal David Buhler and faculty member Elan
Umholtz:
How cool is it when you go to a school with a faculty rock band and the principal plays lead guitar? Once again, it was a pleasure to work with another faculty who sees the big picture; that education isn't just about book learning, but about impacting and inspiring kids for a lifetime.

Oh, the talent! Oh, the commitment to our mutual dream of a world where our children are safe from crime and drugs! My brothers, would that I could, I would wish a lifetime of rock-stardom upon you and that all of your dreams come true as you have helped to make the rock-star dreams of kids come true. www.tracenine.com |

Bruce Hopkins. "What does not kill us, makes us stronger." On season, off season, Bruce is always there with blood, sweat and tears. Thanks, man. |

Alan Marginean of KillerAudio is a true and unconditional friend. He went above-and-beyond to support MUSIC! last year. This year, things are no different. Alan is poised to become a bigger member of the team. And for that, I couldn't be happier. Thanks for being there, brother.. |

When I called Marshall and asked if he's willing to support MUSIC! for another year, he was ready to be there whenever and however needed. Here's another musical superstar who is "giving back" to kids, long before his success has ever allowed him to take anything from anyone. What a super dude. www.marshalldane.com |

STREAMLINED
MUSIC
|
It's a wonderful world when the phone rings and you've got great, Canadian Indie talent on the line, in this case, "Streamlined " asking if they can support your program, your message and your kids. Inside of 12 hours from that first phone call, a support video had been shot, sent and received.
Let's hope that this trend continues and the whole Canadian music industry catches on. Many thanks to Jeff, Justin, Sean and manager Don MacLean for their enthusiasm and cooperation.
